For your immediate attention!
Dear all,
Please note the following changes concerning passenger contact details, which came into force from 1 June 2019, in accordance with Resolution 830d of the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

The aim of the measure is for aircraft carriers participating in the itinerary to have enough information to alert passengers in person of any irregular flight operations and disruptions. In regard to the changes:

  • Travel agents must actively ask for sufficient passenger contact details at or before the time of ticketing. The required details are passenger mobile phone and/or email.
  • The information can only be provided to the airlines with the passenger’s consent, in compliance with any data protection directives or regulations.
  • Should the passenger exercise the right not to provide contact details, the Agent is obliged to register their non-consent and to actively advise them that they may not be alerted about flight cancellations, schedule changes or any related notifications.
  • All contact details will be used strictly for flight notifications and in no event shall not be used for sales and promotional purposes.
  • All reservations for a specific itinerary and any changes therein should beprocessed through one member whenever possible, including for group bookings. The named contact must be accessible 24/7.
It is incumbent upon the agent to enforce the new measures as of 1 June 2019.
Please contact Kyvernitis Travel if you would like any further guidance relating to the new measures and for any assistance.

Best regards,
