Two bulkers collided at Singapore’s eastern bunkering anchorage, according to various reports. Luckily, there is no report of a bunker spillage.
The Capesize bulker, Southern Explorer, had just anchored after arriving from Brazil when the smaller Panamax bulker, Best Unity, collided with it. Following the collision, Southern Explorer was said to have been listing after taking on water.
No crew injuries have been reported, although one shipowner has not been available for comment.
Southern Explorer is owned by Mizuho Sangyo Co. Ltd of Japan while Best Unity belongs to U.S.-based Skaarup Shipping Corp.
